Who qualifies for help?

First responders (firefighters, law enforcement, EMS, and 911 dispatchers), last responders (funeral directors, coroners, and ER nurses), and veterans in Northwest Arkansas who need mental health, physical health, or nutrition support.

Is my request confidential?

Yes. Your employer, coworkers, and family are never contacted without your written consent. Mental health requests go straight to Heroes Behind The Line, and Beyond A Step does not receive them.

How soon will someone contact me?

Expect outreach within 48 hours. If you are in crisis right now, call or text 988, or call 911.

Is there a cost?

No. Beyond A Step covers the cost of mental health counseling, physical wellness resources, and nutrition support for qualifying applicants.
