Beyond A Step is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Northwest Arkansas dedicated to supporting first responders, last responders, and veterans through mental health, physical health, and nutritional wellness resources.

We collect information you voluntarily provide when you:

• Submit a mental health assistance application (first name, last name, email, phone number)
• Submit a volunteer or board member application (name, email, phone, background information)
• Use our contact form (name, email, phone, subject, message)
• Make a donation through our third-party payment processor, Givebutter

How We Use Your Information

• Mental health applications are forwarded directly and confidentially to licensed counselors at Heroes Behind The Line for intake and follow-up.
• Volunteer and board applications are reviewed by our leadership team to coordinate opportunities.
• Contact form submissions are used solely to respond to your inquiry.
• Donation information is processed by Givebutter and is subject to their privacy policy. We receive your name and donation amount for acknowledgment and tax receipt purposes.

Confidentiality of Mental Health Applications

All mental health applications are treated with the highest level of confidentiality. Your employer, coworkers, and family will not be contacted without your explicit written consent. We understand the stigma around seeking help in first responder and military communities, and we are committed to creating a safe, judgment-free path to healing.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only with:

• Heroes Behind The Line (mental health applications only, for counseling services)
• Givebutter (donation processing)
• Service providers necessary for site hosting and form processing
• Legal authorities if required by law or to protect safety

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmission. However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies and Tracking

This website does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. The Givebutter widget may set its own cookies for payment processing functionality.

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
